With one day left until election day early voting has come to an end in Florida. There have been 6.4 million ballots cast in Florida through early voting and absentee ballots. The Democrats finished early voting with a 1.36 percent advantage. While this might sound promising, their current lead is significantly smaller than the turnout advantage they had over registered Republicans at this point in 2008 or 2012. In the 2012 election, the Democrats held a 3.7 percent advantage in early voting.
Independents have cast 19.2 percent and according to most polls, Trump is leading with independents, so this bodes well for his chances in Florida. What can also be taken as a strong sign for Trump is that Republicans tend to outvote Democrats on Election Day.
